Development Strategist to lead effort to conserve the Amazon and Andes

The Amazon Conservation Association (ACA) is a non-profit organization with offices in DC, Peru and Bolivia. The directors and staff are experienced tropical ecologists and conservationists. Our goal is to conserve biodiversity through the development of new scientific understanding, sustainable resource management, and rational land-use policy for the Amazon Basin.

This position is to drive the growth of a young conservation organization by cultivating and following-up with individual donors as well as by providing strategic direction for financial development activities. The ideal candidate will have non-profit experience, be highly organized, self-motivated, and have strong social skills. ACA is a fast-paced and collaborative organization. Your primary contacts will be the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and the DC program staff.

Required qualifications:

• Excellent people skills
• Articulate / persuasive
• Development experience
• Big picture analysis skills
• Nonprofit experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Major gifts experience
• Online marketing / messaging experience
• Competency in Spanish
• Willingness to travel
• MBA preferred
